Many 3rd party lens cannot do Live View in Canon 750d/760D/and M3. It is not just Yongnuo flash, but it also affect any 3rd party Tamron or Sigma lens. I wonder if Canon aim to make Yongnuo incompatible with it's products.

They still work fine with my 5D2 (most of the time) but I'm not giving Pocket Wizard any more money going forward.Īh I have just found a thread whereby Yongnuo acknowledge the YN-E3-RT doesn't work with the new EOS M3 and supposedly the EOS 750D and 760D as they apparently have the same system. I have a MiniTT and 3 FlexTT which cost a bundle at the time. When they work they're great but when they don't.pain-in-the-a_. The Pocket Wizard system has been so finicky since I got them. I have Pocket Wizard as well but haven't gotten around to trying them out on the M3. If I were you, I would stop using it immediately as it is conceivable it might damage the camera.Īh, so it won't work. It seems the FW on the Yongnuo is physically interfering with the camera. What you are reporting, though, is unique. This ETTL tailoring for each camera makes the use of third party equipment on Canon cameras a gamble. I already tested the system with my new M3 (with PWs latest firmware) and it is also a "no-go" (test button on my MiniTT1 fires the remote flashes on FlexTT5s but the camera won't fire the flashes). I use the Pocket Wizard ControlTL system and they were never able to come up with the protocol for my M2. One can only assume it will, but it is a big expense for me if it doesn't as there is no telling how long it will take Yongnuo to fix the problem and whether they can or not.ĮTTL protocols vary quite significantly from camera to camera. I would like to know if anyone can test or already has tested an ST-E3-RT on an M3 or 750 to see if it works. So that has answered to the first part of my question. Is it possible Canon have made it so only the ST-E3-RT, has anyone tried this on an M3?Īh I have just found a thread whereby Yongnuo acknowledge the YN-E3-RT doesn't work with the new EOS M3 and supposedly the EOS 750D and 760D as they apparently have the same system. This is a pain as I need to use both flashes externally. It works OK with the 600ex-rt in the hotshoe and using it as a master. You then hear the shutter go back and then it is back to normal. You have to remove the battery and then reinsert it. Anyway when I attach my YN-E3-RT (latest firmware installed) it causes my M3 to crash, to the extent that the shutter goes then the camera turns off.

I attached it to my M3 and went into the M3 menu and I have 2 options to start with ETTL or Wireless, not quite sure what the wireless (Icon) is supposed to do as I cannot find anything in the manual about it. I have been using the YN perfectly with my Canon 7D.
